For Bermuda Run Town Council

Energetic ~ Honest ~ Engaging

As the daughter of retired healthcare professionals, a former teacher, and currently a real estate broker, I was born with a passion for serving others. Proud to call Bermuda Run "home," I am ready to serve our vibrant community.
Thank YOU for your support. VOTE Melinda for Town Council!

Brief Bio

Kenny and I met at NC State - GO PACK! We married at the NCSU Arboretum in 1995 and welcomed our daughter Kamryn into our lives in 2000. Kamryn is currently a senior in the School of Filmmaking at the UNC School of the Arts. Though she will likely work on animated films in Florida or California or New York, we love having her so close to home for now!
Our family also includes Big Papi, our playful English Bulldog, Sterling, our fearless chihuahua mix, and Jonesy, the charismatic kitty!
We recently downsized from a 16-acre farm in Advance to our fabulous townhouse in the Spyglass neighborhood of Bermuda Run.

Life Experiences

Thanks to my energy and enthusiasm, I have been referred to as a hummingbird on more than one occasion. I look forward to bringing this energy to the Town Council as we work together with residents and our business community to map the future of Bermuda Run.
My life experiences have truly helped me slow my wings a bit and become a more patient, reflective, compassionate, and empathetic person. Most recently, my sister and I were my father's caregivers as we literally journeyed through the last year of his life together, traveling around the country. I learned so much about myself and others during that time.
When it comes to making decisions that impact others, my friends and co-workers will attest that I analyze situations, taking time to gather information, and seeking an abundance of input. Maybe that's not a bad trait when it comes to being a Town Council Member!
With nearly nine years of service on Oak Valley's Homeowners Association Board and twenty years as a real estate broker, the importance of preserving and enhancing the quality of life in our communities is ingrained in me.
Other ways I now serve/have recently served our community include
-Davie County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors (current)
-Leadership Davie Class of 2021 (current)
-Davie County Tourism Advisory Board (current)
-United Way Campaign Committee (former)
